Coach your Team with Confidence

Developing the highest standards of Team Coaching capability for Leaders; bringing theory and practice to life using inspiring and challenging approaches, and always insight led.

Your journey

Delivered face to face or in a virtual learning environment, this programme consists of 4 modules, each 1 day in duration and usually scheduled a month apart, providing an inspiring programme spanning 12 weeks. It is designed around a set of “Coach your Team with Confidence” Core Competencies which build on a delegate’s previous learning of 1:1 Coaching capability. Bringing together the very latest insights and theory from the world of Professional Team Coaching, this programme is aimed at giving leaders the confidence, mindset and skills to operate as a Team Coach when working together or virtually with their people. As a Team Coach, delegates will focus on their role in creating team effectiveness, enhancing team performance, managing potential conflict, and fully embedding a systemic approach and understanding to their role. Diversity, equity and inclusion themes are embedded throughout.

What you can expect

You can expect to receive world-class training from our Post Graduate qualified coaches, all of whom are MBTI and EQi2.0/360 qualified, Mental Health First Aid trained and ICF PCC/EMCC Senior Practitioner accredited.

A pre-requisite of this programme is a solid understanding of the self-awareness and skills needed to deliver effective 1:1 coaching. We will support organisations to ensure this is in place before the programme delivery begins.

The programme is designed to ensure that it fits with your own organisation’s values, behaviours, and learning goals – it will feel like it was designed just for you.

Modules

Self awareness and Team awareness as a Team Coach

This interactive day will focus on the following “Coach your Team with Confidence” Core Competencies:

  1. Demonstrating self awareness – enabling all delegates to have a clear understanding of the spectrum of team interventions from directive (facilitation) to non-directive (team coaching), and what they bring to the role of team coach in terms of their values, preferences and mindset
  2. Building team awareness – bringing together the core elements of contracting and diagnostic tools to raise the awareness of the team as a whole

Following on from engaging set-up by your organisation’s Sponsor, tutors will move straight into a robust contracting conversation for the group to set expectations and agree standards for delivery.

Clarifying the differences between directive and non-directive modes comes next, along with the exploration of the “Coach your Team with Confidence” Core Competencies – the basis for the whole programme.

The major focus of the day is on enhancing self awareness specifically in the role of Team Coach, and enhancing team awareness with the application of tools such as contracting and diagnostics to gain insight.

Creating an environment for trust

This interactive day will focus on the following “Coach your Team with Confidence” Core Competencies:

  1. Building trust in a safe environment – exploring psychological safety to build high trust teams
  2. Awareness of Team dynamics – creating time and space for increased understanding of conflict within teams

This interactive module builds on from Module 1 which focused on self and team awareness, and moves to a deep understanding of the important of building psychological safety for both in-person and virtual teams.

We also explore each person’s attitude towards conflict, and how to manage team conflict scenarios when you are the Team Coach (as well as being the leader).

The afternoon is spent in practical mode working with diagnostic tools and techniques.

Team coaching for performance

This interactive day will focus on the following “Coach your Team with Confidence” Core Competencies:

  1. Establishing team ambition and purpose – working with the team to articulate the ambition and purpose of the team; one that they intrinsically connect with
  2. Prioritising for performance – supporting understanding of team coaching interventions that bring into focus the need for performance and how to prioritise with this in mind

The morning of this interactive module gives delegates the opportunity to further enhance their application of core team coaching tools such as using experimentation and ‘use of self’.

The afternoon focuses on Core Competencies 5 and 6 and aims to give delegates a deeper understanding and practical tools to support teams to define their own ambition and purpose, as well as how to prioritise for performance.
This module creates time for more practice and robust feedback from the tutors.

Coaching the system

This interactive day will focus on the following “Coach your Team with Confidence” Core Competencies:

  1. Coaching the system – embedding depth of understanding of the importance of systems and stakeholders in team coaching
  2. Commitment to self and team development – creating commitment to robust continued professional development following the programme

This final interactive day brings to life the critically important understanding of bringing systems and stakeholders into team coaching. We explore tools that help teams to focus on their broader organisational impact and the nature of their relationships to enable them to maximise engagement, influence and impact.

Taking the time to discuss delegates’ commitments to ongoing continued professional development in order to maintain standards of team coaching within the organisation brings the afternoon of the final module to a close. With time built in for a celebration of course!
